Israel has pummeled Lebanon with an unprecedented airstrike campaign over the last two weeks, killing over 1,400 people, injuring nearly 7,500 others and displacing more than one million people from their homes,

The United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon said Saturday it would not leave positions in the country's south despite what it said was an Israeli request to relocate. Hezbollah said it was engaged in ongoing clashes with Israeli troops in the border area after earlier saying it forced Israeli soldiers to retreat there as an Israeli strike hit northern Lebanon.
