On the morning of Sept. 19, students at Arizona State University were filing into economics class when, out of nowhere, a knife attack almost happened, seemingly at random. But police allege the attack wasn’t random at all.

Mara Daffron, a student of ASU West, has been hospitalized after she was allegedly stabbed "multiple times" by her classmate, Kaci Lenise-Charlie Sloan, while entering a classroom on September 19.

Matthew McCormick, a Navy veteran and an ASU student, told FOX 10 Phoenix that he "felt compelled to do something" when a woman was stabbed during a random attack on campus Sept. 19. (KSAZ)
