As per the National Hurricane Center's 11 am Saturday update, the Category 4 hurricane Kirk has weakened into a Category 3 hurricane. Category 3 Hurricane Kirk is 1040 miles northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands and 1525 miles west-southwest of the Azores, with maximum sustained wind of 120 mph. It’s moving 16 mph to the north.

Forecasters say Hurricane Kirk has strengthened into a Category 3 storm in the Atlantic Ocean and is expected to grow rapidly into a major hurricane.
