Prosecutors in Los Angeles are reviewing new evidence in the case of the Menendez brothers, who were convicted of killing their parents in their Beverly Hills mansion more than 35 years ago.

In a statement released by his wife, Erik Menendez said the series contained "blatant lies" and said it was "ruinous" for his brother. The show's creator, Ryan Murphy, defended the series and said he was used to writing about provocative and controversial subjects.

The Los Angeles County district attorney said his office is reviewing a request to release or resentence the Menendez brothers in light of new evidence.
