Named storm or not, the system heading to the Gulf of Mexico could start to bring heavy rain to Florida and potentially elsewhere by this weekend.

The National Hurricane Center has increased the chances again for development of a system of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico. A tropical or subtropical depression or storm is likely to form late this weekend or early next week,

A complex weather system is blooming in the Gulf of Mexico, putting much of Florida in the path of a days-long rain storm starting late in the weekend and possibly spawning a tropical system that could impact the state by the middle of next week.
