North Dakota incumbent Sen. Kevin Cramer met Democratic challenger Katrina Christiansen on Wednesday in a debate hosted by local public broadcaster Prairie Media. The two candidates disagreed on almost everything from immigration to inflation to abortion.
Christiansen said she opposed the measure while acknowledging property taxes are too high in North Dakota. She said the prospect of property tax elimination is a "stressor" for teachers she's gotten to know at her kids' school in Jamestown. "They are really worried about what happens if Measure 4 passes," she said.
Kevin Cramer and Katrina Christiansen are scheduled to debate again on Oct. 16, just three weeks before Election Day.

North Dakota, the only state without voter registration, uses only paper ballots, which are counted by electronic tabulators. Absentee voting began Thursday in the Peace Garden State. Nearly 44% of North Dakota voters participated by early voting or by mail in the November 2022 election.
