People in an area 22 miles southeast of Bend have been ordered to evacuate after a 2,000-acre fire started near there on Monday afternoon — the latest in a record-setting year for Oregon wildfires.
A new wildfire was reported today at 5:32 p.m. in ButteCounty. Lower Fire has been burning on private land. At this time, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
The wildfire broke out southeast of Pine Mountain Monday afternoon spreading to nearly 2,000 acres by nightfall, prompting expanded Level 3 and 2 evacuations.
