In a recent interview with Tried & Refused Productions, both Alia and Vasan opened up about the unconventional way the script first made its way to the actress.

Vasan Bala revealed that he had written a rough draft of the film and mailed it to Karan Johar to take a look at, which he then sent to Alia Bhatt. Something, the Jigra director wasn't too happy about.
