LAVAL, Quebec, & TOKYO — Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. is continuing its efforts to acquire Seven & i Holdings Co Ltd., parent company to 7-Eleven Inc. Seven & i confirmed on Oct. 9 that it had received a revised confidential, private and nonbinding proposal from Couche-Tard.

The new bid, at $18.19 per share, was more than 20% higher than ACT's previous offer for the Japanese company and was sent last month, Bloomberg said, citing people with knowledge of the matter. Canada's ACT was not immediately available for comment.
